| Waiting Children:Almendra |
PENDING: A family is under consideration for this child. Please do not contact CYFD about her right now, but do feel free to continue to check on her status, which will be updated as her situation changes. Thank you.
A sweet-natured twelve year old, bi-lingual Almendra loves music and the outdoors and would do well with a single Hispanic female or couple with girls her age or older.
Almendra, 12, is described by her caseworker as having a very sweet temperament. This sixth grader makes friends easily and gets along well with adults and other children. She loves music and even has her own CD collection. When not enjoying her tunes, she can be found playing outside; she especially loves to swim. At the table, you can please her with just about any type of Mexican food...but don’t forget pizza and hamburgers! While Almendra's first language is Spanish, she is also completely fluent in English. The ideal family for her would be a Hispanic single female or couple with female children her age or a bit older. Almendra's cultural heritage is very important to her and should be fostered and encouraged. Interested families will need to have an adoptive license and an approved, active home study to receive more detailed information.

I found Almdendra to be just so sweet and lovely. Alhough a little shy and quiet at first, there is a bright alertness in her eyes, and I thought she was quite engaging. Her next door neighbor friend came along to help, and I made them both laugh when I made the friend work for me...holding and lugging equipment. I am not above putting a teenager to work if I need the help! Even though Almendra didn't really have much to say to me, she and her friend had their heads together often, whispering and giggling. All together a perfectly sweet "tween".
