Picturing A Home For Every Child
Waiting Children:Alexsis, Jamie & Donovan

PENDING: A family is under consideration for these siblings. Please do not contact CYFD about them right now, but do feel free to continue to check on their status, which will be updated as their situation changes. Thank you.

These three bright and active siblings must be placed together, with a committed adoptive family that will support their continued growth as siblings and individuals.

Eight year old Alexsis (Lexi), eleven year old Jamie and little brother Donovan, five, are happiest when they are jumping together on their trampoline or swimming in their foster family’s backyard pool. The children enjoy playing with the family puppy, and Jamie likes to help with pet care tasks…even cleaning up puppy messes!

These siblings are close, and have made great progress in their behaviors and development. Jamie, a third grader in regular education classes, is learning that he does not need to be a parent to his younger brother and sister, and is enjoying just being a boy. Lexi is in second grade special education classes, and is working hard on her behaviors; she is proud of having many “gold star” days lately. Donovan, a very active regular education kindergartner, is able to express himself much better thanks to speech therapy.

Although the children are members of the Cheyenne River Sioux tribe, the tribe has approved their being adopted by non-tribal members. The most important qualities of a “forever family” for them are unconditional love, commitment and support.
