Picturing A Home For Every Child
Waiting Children:Fernanda
Fernanda

Fernanda brings a light to everyone she encounters. She warms a room with her fabulous smile and big heart, and draws people to her everywhere she goes. Fernanda gets along with adults as well as children but prefers to spend time with kids of any age. An outgoing girl, she has many friends at school. Fernanda is a bright girl who does well in school. Her favorite subject is math, and she struggles with reading. Though she is somewhat behind grade level, it is only due to the educational neglect and not any learning disability. Her adoptive family will need to work closely with her to continue the academic gains she has achieved thus far.

Fernanda is a very active girl who loves to sing and dance. She recently got a bike and enjoys riding it all over. She is a healthy and lively child who enjoys outdoor activities, as well as "girl stuff" such as new clothes and attractive hair accessories. Not a picky eater, Fernanda loves everything and will try new foods. She reports that her favorite type of food is Chinese. Fernanda is fluent in Spanish, and though a bilingual family is not necessary, we are looking for a home where she will be encouraged to continue with her Spanish, so she doesn’t lose it.

She is a very resilient child who would do very well in a permanent placement where she can learn to trust and have a greater sense of security.
