Picturing A Home For Every Child
Waiting Children:Jessica M.
Jessica [photo by Candace Gould] Bright, strong-spirited and open, Jessica would do well with a structured New Mexico family where she would be the only or youngest child.

Jessica’s smile is a good indication of her usually friendly demeanor. Eleven years old and in the fourth grade, she is intelligent, enjoys learning new things and tries hard to succeed. As you can see from her portrait, she loves getting dressed up, but she also enjoys being active and practicing gymnastics. Jessica’s strong will is an important part of her personality, but it does mean that she needs adoptive parents with skills that include creating and maintaining structure. She still requires supervision, and would benefit from guidance in how to manage her emotions. Jessica relates better to adults than peers, and would do best in a home where she is the only child or the youngest child. Since Jessica demonstrates a willingness to engage in relationships and to connect with others, she would offer a lot to a family willing to meet her needs and help her develop.

Since an out of state placement is not currently in Jessica’s best interest, we are only considering New Mexico families with approved home studies at this time.
